Saudi Aramco's Marjan field expansion is one of the largest oil and gas programmes in the world. Scott won a £1.9M package on it, through the EPC contractor he has done the most business with anywhere.

The Situation

Marjan is a multi billion dollar Aramco expansion, executed in packages through the major EPC contractors. The opportunity sat inside the engineering specification of the contractor, Técnicas Reunidas, not in any open market. Win it there or do not win it at all.

What Scott Did

Rather than chase Aramco procurement, Scott worked the Técnicas Reunidas relationship and the specification itself, getting the product designed into the package scope during engineering. By the time the work was procured, the technical decision had already been made.

The Result

A £1.9M award, the largest single project of its kind in that period, and proof that the specification led route works in the hardest market in the region. The relationship continues to generate opportunities today.
